RI AstroNite 19 Aug 2016

Some of us had gone to the Raffles Institution (RI) Astronite event for a collaboration, where we got a great presentation, by the RI vice chair Le Vint Ve, on the topic of light scattering, astrophotography and the processes of nuclear physics that occur in the Sun. After the presentation, we did stargazing using both altazimuth and equatorial mounts for reflecting, refracting and catadioptric telescopes. Here are some highlights:

Solar Eclipse of 9th March, 2016

On 9th March 2016, Astronomy Club had organised a Solar Eclipse observing session, where the whole school community got an opportunity to view the eclipse through large solar filters, as well as have a lesson on the science behind eclipses as well as why the phenomenon occurs.
